Golden Retriever Puppy Aggression. There may be some hidden reason which may be compelling your Golden Retriever to behave in an aggressive manner. Either due to genetic or environmental factors a Golden Retriever can be aggressive.

Firstly and most importantly never separate a puppy from its litter before it hits at least 8 weeks of age. If you have adopted the puppy from a shelter and the previous owner was cruel then you will need to work on winning the pups trust. Such aggression can be directed to other animals or even you as the owner.

Inadequate socialization can also create an aggressive Retriever. The problem is that a dominant Golden Retriever with a strong character is very often the reason for aggression. They are generally easy to train and end up as service or guide dogs. Aggression is not the inborn trait of a Golden Retriever.
