From about 16 months most Golden Retrievers are considered adults though they may still have some growing to do. Looking at the growth chart you will notice that the smallest sized female Golden Retriever puppy is bigger in size than the smallest male Golden Retriever pup until month 5. They contain rapidly dividing cells that allow bones to become longer until the end of puberty in both humans and canines.
Most Goldens are fully grown by the time they are two years old.
